I worked with the client from August 2021 to January 2023, delivering consistent results over multiple years.
The client was struggling to get replies from cold emails sent to US-based business owners.
Generic openings were being ignored, and the outreach lacked a human, personalized touch.
The goal was to improve response rates by warming up leads before pitching services.
The strategy was to start each email with a genuine, highly personalized compliment based on real research. Each first line followed strict guidelines:
Written in natural, conversational English
Never formal or generic
So personalized it could not be reused for anyone else
Between 20–40 words on average
The client provided detailed lead information, including LinkedIn profiles, websites, names, roles, and company details. I researched each individual lead and crafted a unique compliment tailored specifically to them, showing clear effort and relevance.
This approach demonstrated respect, built trust, and made prospects more open to the rest of the email.
The campaign saw a dramatic increase in response rates, leading to more conversations and high-value contracts closed. The long-term partnership—spanning three different years—highlights the effectiveness and value of this personalized outreach strategy.
